Um, Mary and Jesus are the center of Christmas...
“You’ll find, if you bother to look, the entity known as the United States Postal Service began operation on July 1, 1971.”
Actually, I don’t care. There has been a postal service since the inception of the country by whatever name.
So there!
Perhaps contemporary protestants don't but most of them are ignorant of the teachings of people like Calvin, Luther, Zwingli, etc. on the Blessed Mother.
“check facts before posting nonsense and dire accusations.
So there!”
and you’re a twit so there!
Facts were posted and your statement was nonsense. Apparently you didn’t bother to check.
Right. How many other believers are described in Scripture as being called Blessed by all future generations?
>>Muslim holiday of EID <<
Explosive Improvised Device?
>>Right. How many other believers are described in Scripture as being called Blessed by all future generations?<<
I don’t believe the Church has the power to create saints any more than the Roman senate had the power to create god.
But being chosen to bear the earthly form or the son of God or being chosen as one of his 12 Apostles is a pretty clear sign of being blessed.
I have a hard time understanding people being upset with Jesus being pictured with his mother.
>>That is utterly and completely false, and I’m not sure which is sadder; that you believe it, or that you spout your lies as truth.<<
Its a very odd world where the Catholic Church can be condemned at the same time for “slighting the role of women” while also being condemned for “elevating Mary to co-redemptix.”
This feels like people going out of their way to after Catholicism. And Co-redemptrix sounds too much like dominatrix to be something I like seeing the Mother of Jesus called.
Denying the Blessed Mother's unique role in the salvation of mankind is quite simply a manifestation of ignorance and disrespect.
You might consider Paul in your “who started Christianity” discussions...just for fun?
Oh, I see. So it was acceptable to use the word Madonna before the 1540’s but not after?
You're trying to pick a fight where none exists. Where did I say anything about it being "acceptable" to use the word Madonna? Really all I was getting at is, if you hear someone use the word Madonna to refer to Mary, it's usually a Catholic. Not right, not wrong, just describing reality.
To answer your absurd question, it's perfectly acceptable to use the word today, as far as I'm concerned.
>>The word coredemptrix is Latin meaning the woman with the Redeemer, nothing more.
Denying the Blessed Mother’s unique role in the salvation of mankind is quite simply a manifestation of ignorance and disrespect.<<
Did you think I was arguing against her unique role? I meant that I don’t like the way the word sounds in this context.
BTW, if you Google coredemtrix and latin the first hit is this very informative Freep thread.

“I feel that people have every right to celebrate the holidays that they want to celebrate.”
Yes they do, as long as they do not force it on the rest of us and try to foist it off as having legitimacy. And considering its founder and lack of legitimacy the last place it belongs is forced into schools. Read up on it and you will discover it is a sham and what a complete s**mbag the “Dr.” who came up with it is.
Well, it didn't. The Post Office Department did, but they didn't have an independent budget and they didn't independently select stamps for publication.
Amen! Some of the greatest deeds ever done were against the law.
No.
