California will continue to have forest fires because they refuse to engage in forest management. You’ve got to be a real idiot to buy into the Leftist policy of “Let nature take it’s course”, even though that means dangerous buildups of dead brush. Since CA is filled with idiots, that’s exactly what they do.

Yep, see post 43! At least they arrested them. Maybe they will commit them.

Yes, they try. But it hurts them in the long run....global warming is becoming nothing but a “boogyman”.

It makes them look as stupid as they are.

I think a lot of those idiots just got a heck of a reality check.

It is obvious though, in the aftermath, that there are a lot of great Californians.

Spybot’s database is incredible, and updated quickly. It beats the snot out of Symantec, and don’t get me started about McAfee!!

No doubt. I won't buy anything more ever from Mcafee or Symantec. Symantec is a resource hog and Mcafee just sucks. I did load on CA (Computer Associates) and I like their virus package.

Ok it ran and found nothing.

Now I’m immunizing.

Is there a way to set it up to automatically run S&D once a week?

It is thorough, and it helped me get rid of some of the worst things. I had a bot that hijacked my favorites list and put really nasty links in place of mine.

My protection software suite is made up of:

- Spybots
- HijackThis
- Adaware
- CA

Not in Spybot IIRC...you can set it to run everytime on startup.

My spybot runs every time I sign on. It works great. I know of no way to change that. I get a little pop up that tells me it found nothing. It shows for about 10 seconds.

Good list...I’m running XP, and it has a lot of safeguards built in that make some of the stuff redundant. IT is especially hard to hijack it. Most I’ve talked to don’t like the extra trouble, but I’m fine with it!

Just told that to my wife yesterday. A few years ago, the treehuggers wanted certain forests left untended so that a certain species of owl would not be damaged. Well, the forest was not tended to, it became crowded with trees and the owls began to leave. In typical treehugger fashion, they were alarmed to learn that since the forests were not controlled, the trees grew out of control and the owl they wanted to protect had to find a new home because its wide wingspan could not fit between all of the trees without significant risk. So, the owls flew away.

hmm... I’m not sure how that will work for me.

My connection is wireless and is on all the time.

True enough. And San Diego showed that it is not as incompetently and corruptly run as New Orleans is. But, unfortunately, all those folks in Qualcom stadium aren't the ones setting environmental and forestry regulations. That's being done by a small bunch of Enviro-Wackos at the Federal and State level who insanely oppose, on ideological grounds, any attempts to clear brush, thin forests, or otherwise do sensible steps to prevent large forest fires.

These wackjobs don't give a damn about the human cost of their stupid policies.
