It wasnt JUST immigration with Buchanan, it was just about everything involving foreign policy, also. Buchanan’s foreign policy belongs to another age.. the Gilded Age. The contrast here is that FDT doesn’t oppose LEGAL immigration, as opposed to Buchanan who is a fairly extreme nativist.
Are you saying we would have been better off if Buchanan had won the nomination? What exactly do you mean by “chosen”? They were elected by Republican voters.
