Wow! Glad you didn’t. The side that resorts to violence is deminished.
Thanks, as you know I know that too.
I’ve bookmarked this thread, and next time I come across one of these ‘both sides do it, they’re all the same’ folks I’m going to come back here and let you all have a wack at him.
If she made any physical contact, you can add "battery" to the charges.
Thanks! I know you understood the differences. Just felt like chiming in. Send ‘em on over!
Dear Congresswoman Hooley:
I was shocked, appalled and outraged to see the news reports and photos of the Code Pink protestor who assaulted Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice during yesterday's Congressional hearings.
The Secretary of State is fourth in the Order of Presidential Succession, after the Vice President, the Speaker of the House, and the President pro tempore of the Senate.
For Speaker Pelosis House to allow the Secretary of State of the United States of America to be assaulted in the House is atrocious and inexcusable.
I hope President Bush will make it clear in no uncertain terms to Speaker Pelosi that he will not allow any Cabinet member to come to the House until the appropriate level of security is guaranteed to them.
Additionally, Speaker Pelosi should to see to it that the Chairman of that committee is censured for his failure to ensure security for the Secretary of State. The Democratic congressperson who cleared those Code Pink protestors into the committee room should be censured, as well.
This is not a game. This is serious business. What's next in this sheer insanity - an anarchist bringing a weapon in and assassinating a member of the Administration??
I urge you to address this deplorable situation with Speaker Pelosi. Are she and Congressional Democrats delusional enough to think that the vast majority of Americans approves of this criminal behavior on the floor of the greatest deliberative body on earth? This type of behavior has been condoned, and even encouraged, by the Democratic Party for much too long. "
I don't see how an assault could be found here. Desiree did not touch Condoleeza; so no assault charge is possible. At the most would be disturbing the peace. Also, Desiree smeared some walls with her red stained hands. She has been charged for defacing government property. Possibly a slap on the wrist.
What is the most troubling about this episode is that it sends the message to possible assassins that you can get in close enough to do some real harm. We are in a world of trouble.
Good points. Although she did surrounder her with her arms as can be seen in the pictures. Hope she gets some time behind bars for this outrage. But like you, she will probably only get a slap on the wrist. I concurr that it sends a bad signal to those intent on harm.
