A more revealing sample of Jews impacted by the holocaust might be the european jewish immigrants to palestine/israel post-WWII.

I believe there were 2 types. Those who became more entrenched in pacifism, and those who were intent on forming their own country, which of necessity included forming a military.

The US got the pacifistic Jews.
