In civilized circles it is considered boorish to speak of Jews as Christ-killers, or to use language evoking the venomous old teaching that Jews are forever cursed for the death of Jesus. Those circles apparently don't include the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center, an anti-Israel

The first Christians were all Jews until Peter peached to Cornelius the centurion and his household and they were saved. We all put Jesus Christ on the cross and that’s clearly the biblical position for all time. Christ came on purpose to give His life for all. Anyone who thinks that any particular group is responsible for Christ’s death disregards His own words and the authority of the Bible.

Jesus asked his Father to forgive those, Romans and Jews, who were killing him.

The least we can do is to obey his request.

John 10:17-18

Jesus said:

17The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

Christ used the Sanhedrin and the Roman officials to implement God’s plan. He willingly suffered lashing and gave up his life for the world’s sins, knowing he would rise again. Had he wanted to save himself from the cross, he could have done so easily.

It was God the Father’s decision that God the Son die on the cross for the world’s sins and the Son agreed do to so out of obedience to the Father and love for humanity.

While the teleological and authoritative responsibility goes to God, the (im)moral responsibility goes to sinful humankind — every single one of us — for necessitating such an enormous fix.
