I really think he misspoke. Liberals aren't very good on the precise meaning of words. What he really meant is that he wants to duck out of the line of fire, lie low, and stay unnoticed until this affair blows over. Like all politicians, he likes to be seen, maybe, but admired for doing something good, not for screwing up and saying something stupid and self-destructive.

What's really funny about it, of course, is that "insignificant" is unintentionally exactly the right word for him. He didn't mean it, but it fits just right.

I, too, checked to see if this was Scrappleface or some other satirical web site. No, he's just a stupid liberal, with a habit of bending words to fit, who panicked and used the wrong word about himself. Worse yet, it was unintentionally exactly the right word.

Yes, I agree, but it was one of those Freudian slips, he told the truth intending to lie with the word "significant".
