Time to slow things down by demanding an environmental impact study be conducted. The Ahmadiyya community is simply trying to take over this town. The people who live there don't want to be overrun. I don't blame them.

There goes the neighborhood.

the town can deny the sect's proposal only if there are legitimate concerns about traffic, infrastructure or planning. Or bombs bursting in air.

Time to slow things down by demanding an environmental impact study be conducted. I don't know about that. It's the kind of desperate stalling tactic libs use when they can't win in the marketplace of ideas.

Legally, the town's hands are tied. Making land-use decisions on religious or racial grounds is unconstitutional, and the town can deny the sect's proposal only if there are legitimate concerns about traffic, infrastructure or planning. If these were neo-nazis - would we even have a debate?

Easy. This land is not zoned for terrorism....DENIED.

I was struck by Intisar Abbasi's comment,
"I'm not surprised there are people who are angry, but, you know, that's part of the process."... Part of the process of tryng to take over our country in small increments, and getting some pushback?

There’s got to be some farmers around there with manure spreaders - have them saturate the land with pig feces.

Sauce for the gander...Don't care. It's hypocrisy. Shall we cheer imminent domain next, sieze this land for the common good so they can't use it?
We ought never be tempted to use the power of the state for our own political ends. Not only is it immoral, it's short-sighted - the tiger is too hard to cage once unleashed, and those same tactics will then be used upon us.

If you reqally want to get to them spread LIQUID pig manure the day before their big meetings. Other neighbors will have to leave for a few days also.

Before court battles heat up I want to remind any Federal judges of two details:
1. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"
That's CONGRESS. NOT the state of Maryland.
2. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."
That means YOU the Federal judiciary has absolutely NO jurisdiction in this matter of a state using zoning laws to prevent this Muslim maddrassa. This is a Maryland matter ONLY. I would ask all MD officials to be mindful of this fact, when they ignore any future Federal rulings in this matter.

Wonder if they have enough land for the firing range..

....those same tactics will then be used upon us....I take it you don't live in the West. The tiger is already unleashed. I think the people of this community are justified in using whatever tools are at their disposal to turn back the tide. Read up on the history of the Montgomery County, MD., inter-county connector.

You don't want to discourage them! If they want to clump themselves up into a high-value target, who are we to deny them? Fuel-air bombs work better if the casualties-to-be are grouped close together. That way, the over-pressure can drop the roof on them with minimal bother...
It is an unfortunate fact of history that third world countries always underestimate how bloodthirsty and entirely ruthless the US gets when it is truely POed. When and if they nuke New York, they will find out that the Great Satan can indeed deliver Hell on Earth.
