Escamillas crime: he invited an Evangelist to speak to students in one of his History classes. It made sense. The class was about the Bible in History. Who was he going to invite? Howard Dean? The Evangelist was Kamil Solomon, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian now residing in Raleigh. Kamil runs Kamil International Ministries.
Coptic Christians are not among Egypts favorite minorities. Egypt is 96 percent Muslim and the majority population has been persecuting the Copts for more years than the Prophet had fleas in his beard.
