Serious problem here. Romney wants to use "surplus" embryos for embryonic stem cell research. During the last Senate debate on ESCR, Romney's fellow Mormon Sen. Gordon Smith complimented Sen. Orrin Hatch for proper "theology"; namely, that human embryos aren't persons until their mothers want them implanted.

At the moment, Romney’s campaign is probably doing the best job. They’ve been working to cover his right flank, where he was weak, and they’ve put together a nice string of endorsements to grab some press.
I’m still backing Fred, but when the primaries roll around, I’ll go with whoever is in the strongest position to stop Rudy.

We discussed this in another thread. Willke is a seriously misinformed individual to support phony liberal Precious Willard over such an issue.

At the moment, Romneys campaign is probably doing the best job. True, 50 million and he has a firm lock on Fourth place in national polling.
LOL

Maybe senility? Maybe he just couldn’t resist the Romney full court press?
Romney is STILL speaking out in favor of fetal stem cell research, and his record in Massachusetts as governor was not good.

I am not sure what the effect is on Christians like myself who are involved in their churches on a local level. I am afraid that I am not up to date on national christian political figures and I wonder how many people these endorsements will affect.

What a crock! Romney was an outstanding Governor. Why don’t you do a little reading up on him.

Fred needs some help on his threads....you are actually helping Romney more by posting on these threads. That was why I got excited about Romney. I started reading his actual record....not the stuff his detractors have cooked up.

You keep telling yourself that, sugar.

Pro-abortion. Let’s not use media weasel words. Precious will take any position at a given moment to suit the crowd. Abort babies at lunch ? No prob. A social Conserv at din-din. Sho’ ‘nuff. That’s what is called having no core principles.

Granted, Romney’s record in the past has not been perfect.
But aren’t we allowed to mature, to learn from mistakes, to possibly have a genuine change of heart?
I’m sure this endorsement was not given lightly.
I think if we can accept Romney’s embracing of this issue (which is evidenced by this weighty endorsement), he emerges as a very good candidate around whom we can rally. Maybe not perfect, but more than acceptable and eminently electable.
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the very good.

True, 50 million and he has a firm lock on Fourth place in national polling. National polling doesn't matter. The race will be decided before most folks get to have any input other than $$. It may be pretty well wrapped up by February 6; Virginia on February 12 probably isn't going to matter any more than Texas in March. For most of us, it's only a spectator sport.
