"I think, having had that experience and those contacts, I can help us," Treen told the Associated Press in an interview. "There is a shortage of funds for people who want to come back to rebuild. That will be a major concern of mine in the Congress."

Why does he need an elective position to talk to these friends of his? If he truly was concerned, he would have already spoken to them.
