An Anchorage jury today found a former stripper turned soccer mom guilty of first-degree murder in the decade-old death of her fiance.

Mechele Linehan, 35, was charged with conspiring with another fiance to kill Kent Leppink, who was shot three times in 1996 on an isolated trail 90 minutes outside Anchorage.

There was no visible reaction from Linehan as the verdict was read. Judge Philip Volland allowed her husband, Colin, “one final embrace” before she was led from the courtroom in handcuffs.

Outside the courtroom, Colin Linehan was visibly shaken and tight-lipped. He told reporters who asked how he felt: “It’s one of the stupidest questions I’ve ever heard.”

SNIP ...Linehan was said to have been one of the most popular women working at the strip club. A former co-worker said she was so sexy, she didn’t have to dance to earn big tips; men would pay just to talk to her.

Prosecutors say that is where the blonde, now a brunette, borrowed the plot of “The Last Seduction” and had the 36-year-old Leppink killed. ...SNIP

I saw that film a few years ago. Linda Fiorentino gave the performance of a lifetime.

She had hoped to get the $1 million life insurance, but she didn’t know her name had been removed as beneficiary. That’s the thing to do, name an exotic dancer as beneficiary. Don’t leave it to Harvard or your church.

Giving an immoral person a reason to do something immoral is never a wise move.

Maybe I’m a little skeptical, maybe even a trace of cynical now, of motives after 64 years of seeing some things, but I prefer when a hooker doesn’t bother with the ‘retirement’ schtick.

That woman is an evil psychopath.
She will probably serve no additional time due to the lack of a penis.

Prosecutors had little direct evidence but attempted to prove that Linehan was in on planning Leppink’s murder to cash in on a $1 million insurance policy, not realizing Leppink had removed her as the beneficiary just days before his death.

D'oh!

Mmmm, nice eyes.

But what is in that head is scary. Wonder what her husband thinks now, of what he had next to him all this time.

Well, in Alaska, she will 20 years to 99 years o figure it all out.

My wife was surprised, I wasn’t. Jury - 9 women and 3 men. She was toast at the git-go.
