In a perfect world, if you have a pool, and the winds are not blowing burning embers at 60 plus miles per hour, far from the actual fires, with the wind changing directions every few minutes.

Watch the fires hose water streams on some of the videos...Many times even with high capacity hoses, the water is blown almost sideways.

Bottom line is, if your in the path of a wind blown wild fire, blowing thousand of hot embers, your in big time trouble, pool pump or not.

True, but in marginal areas, pre-soaking your home can save it from destruction.
