Little Rock (AP) - Governor Mike Huckabee is speaking out against federal agents who raided an Arkadelphia Chicken plant. Huckabee said it appears the arrests of 119 workers at the plant were terribly planned and that federal agents gave little thought to the consequences for children of those arrested.
Families and churches in the Arkadelphia area have been caring for about 30 children left behind after the July 26 raid. Huckabee has joined Hispanic civil rights leaders to ensure the well-being of the children. Immigration officials said they raided the plant after auditing the company's records.
The raid followed the February identity-theft conviction of an Arkadelphia woman who admitted she unlawfully sold identity documents and Social Security cards. The agents said many workers illegally purchased the documents and used them to obtain employment.

Ahh, a new “front runner”.
Note my tagline...
Not sure about frontrunner yet, but he needs to withdraw his candidacy.
“How is our government benefiting from an abandoned 1-year-old? I’m thinking as a parent, if I was in that position and my only crime was plucking a chicken to feed my family. I didn’t hurt anyone,” he said. “It would be different if the crime was robbing a bank with a gun or making methamphetamine.”

I can understand why Huckabee would be concerned for the welfare of children in his state, but we are relying on the unreliable media when it says that he is speaking out against the feds who conducted the raid. I do not see a quote from Huckabee in the article and I am reluctant to bash him on the word of the media.
You don’t know Hucks record very well then. I’m here to help. :o)
Mike, stay in AR
Keep up the good work pissant!
All I was saying above was that I'm not going to get all worked up without seeing or hearing a direct quote because the media lies to us regularly and we should be consistent in our disbelief. For all I know, this article is nothing more than 1) an attempt to draw sympathy for illegals and 2) an attempt to stir a little infighting in the republican camps.
" We have to know who is coming into our country, where they are going, and why they are here. We need a fence along our border with Mexico, electronic in some places, and more highly-trained border agents."
" Those who are caught trying to enter illegally must be detained, processed, and deported. "
" Illegal immigrants already living among us who commit crimes must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and incarcerated or deported."
" I opposed the amnesty bill that was defeated by the Senate in June. I support the $3 billion that Congress recently appropriated for border security. These funds will be used to train and deploy 23,000 more agents, add four drone airplanes, build 700 miles of fence and 300 miles of vehicle barriers, and erect 105 radar and camera towers. They will be used to end "catch and release" by providing money to "catch and detain" those caught entering illegally and to crack down on those who enter legally, but overstay their visas. These border security provisions will stem the tide of illegals, which is what we must do before we can turn the tide and deal with those who are already here. Before you fix the damage in your house caused by a leaking roof, you stop the leak, which is what this legislation will do."
He is a coddler of the first order. As Ann Coulter said, he makes George Bush look like Tom Tancredo.
Yeah, "to obtain employment".... and to obtain all kinds of "free" stuff from credit card purchases, I'm sure. I wonder how many innocent Americans had their lives completely disrupted by these identity thieves?
Thanks for your support, Mike.
Wow, does Mike ever sound like a death bed convert.

Huckabee serious about presidency
(snip)
Mr. Huckabee said he approved of virtually everything in the Monday night speech on immigration by Mr. Bush, including his National Guard and guest-worker initiatives, even though that agreement put Mr. Huckabee at odds, he said, with some fellow conservative Republicans.
I do believe some of it is driven by racism or nativism, he said of the opposition within his party to Mr. Bushs view that illegal aliens should not be deported but rather fined and eventually allowed U.S. citizenship.
Its not amnesty to make people pay for breaking the law, Mr. Huckabee said.
As president, he said, he would have no problem working on common goals with fellow Arkansan Bill Clinton or with other Democrats for that matter.
(snip)
On the environment, he said: We have done more to abuse than use the planet. He added that its better for Americans to act as if global warming is a scientific fact because there is no downside in conserving our resources.

No vote from me under any circumstances. These dumbasses just dont understand where the American people are on this issue.
Does anyone know how to pass info about Huckabee on to the Values Voters group? I know Phyllis Schlafly greatly admires Duncan Hunter. Does anyone have her email address?
Actually, they do. So they all try to sound like Duncan Hunter on the campaign trail these days. LOL
I hope so. He will never win but he will divert votes to make it easier for Rudy to win.
I’ll look.
