IMHO the media is spending too much time looking for sexy fire video. Local TV and radio needs to provide timely and accurate evacuation route information.
I don’t have a good feeling about all these people being stuck on the roads, after nightfall, in the middle of a firestorm.
Remember the hurricane evacuations?
123 homes burned in Lake Arrowhead, just behind the country club. More homes in other locations.
One of the problems local news has reported (NBC) is that with I-15 closed all the way up to Temecula, that major evacuation route has been closed.
Now, there are fires around Alpine which is on the east evacuation route, I-8, and that area is now being evacuated.
Because of this, evacuation alternatives are few; I-5 North being the only major one open.
Yet, like you say, the news organizations, especially because of this, should be on top of city, county, state organizations on how/where people can concentrate on evacuating.
Not a good situation.
Very good points. I always wondered why these MSM moonbats only tell us when a business is laying people off. Who cares ? How about telling us who is hiring lots of people ? The MSM is by definition, Agents of the Grim Reaper. What bleeds, leads.
