No bias in those comments. They were not watching the same program I was watching. Fred did much better tonight than the last time, but then he couldn’t get any worse. He still comes across as old, slow on his feet and 10-20 years past his prime. It is very hard to believe that he is generally in the same age group as Rudy and Mitt who are both more energetic and quicker on their feet. I give him kudos for having a young wife and two little kids, but that does not make him a winner in 2008. Fred don’t give up your day job, “L&O” and Paul Harvey need you.
ok,
I think Giuliani was pointed out as just like hillary and people REALLY don’t want hillary. Fred Thompson wen for the Jugular and successfully threw Giuliani off.
Thompson did toss back the BS lazy question with a list of the things he has done. (ie shirpaing a USSC nominee through confirmation)
I also thought his spin room interview was a classic example of being relaxed and on focus in a hostile environment. He humiliated colmes and Hanity was just irrelevant. (he could have gone for coffee and just left a list)
On just style points he did set himself as appart from the hair spray shortage and NYC lawyer.
Romeny was Romney
Giulaini was denying he was hillary and worked HARD to not say 9/11 (but he did almost slip ONCE)
Giuliani was giving the same lines.
Huckabee is irrelevant.
Thompson succeeded in being constructivly different.
I'll give you the same advice as far as political analysis goes. The "Fred's old, lazy, sick and married to a trophy wife" talking points are getting old. Time for you guys to come up with something fresh.
I think what you see is old and slow is the southern good ole boy “gotch ya”. I used to see it some in the midwest too, but you see it a lot in the south.
Do not ever assume that because some one is VERY deliberate in their speech and mannerisms that they are also slow in their thought processes. You do so to your own detriment.
