San Diego update:
Ramona airbase is hoping they’ll be able to get a single air crane back up (they were grounded for awhile b/c of winds) and they are going to send it to Potrero.
Winds are SO heavy over the Witch Creek/Ramona/Santa Ysabel fire that the 7 aircraft in the area are unable to go up and do drops at the moment. There were 5 drops earlier in the day, but b/c of updrafts, the fire retardent didn’t hit the targets and the aircraft were not effective.
So the 7 air tankers on standby in Ramona to go up as soon as it’s safe for them to go back up and resume drops. But that 1 air crane they’re hoping to get down to the Harris fire soon.

It must be extra frustrating waiting on the winds to slow down.
