Mandatory Evacuation Now For All Communities From Crestline To Big Bear Dam
Update 3:25 PM
Running Springs - According to John Miller from the US Forest Service, there is now a mandatory evacuation for all communities between Crestline and the Big Bear Dam. Cedarpines Park and Valley of Enchantment are still under a voluntary evacuation. Miller stated that the fire is now hitting Nob Hill. He was not sure if Pali Mountain Camp was damaged. There is active structure protection in Rimwood Ranch. Structures were reported burning at the top of Live Oak Drive and Poplar.

There are reports that the fire is making a run toward the Castle in Fredalba. Structures were reported to be on fire along Willow Drive and Poplar Drive in the western end of Running Springs.

If and when the wind turns Big Bear may also be in trouble.

the same side as the camp)

-They are trying to stop the fire from
reaches Camp Cedar Crest and there are
concerns if is gets away it will go
straight into Arrowbear

-Fire is burning in the entire Deep
creek drainage and it is assumed that
all of Crab Flats has burned.

in town. There are now fire
crews in town, they are fighting a
pretty difficult battle up there as
we speak, they have one chopper helping now.

-Fox lumber is gone, along with the
green valley lake real estate
office.

- Lots of houses lost/damaged on the
East/North side of town, Angeles
Dr, Ridgeway, Robin Dr etc.

- Everything in the heart of town
(housing areas) appears to have
faired well, and untouched with a few
houses lost here and there. (no
specific locations right now)

- Firefight is happening right now to
try to save homes on Canyon Dr.

- Many houses lost just as you drive
into town on the right side of
the road

I wonder if the camp I went to as a kid, Thousand Pines, is in trouble or has been hit...

No need to answer, just wondering.
