Anaheim firefighters quickly battled and extinguished a one-acre brushfire around 12:30 a.m. near Sycamore Park in the eastern side of the city. The flare-up followed a two-acre blaze around 5 p.m. Monday, officials said. 17 fire engines carrying 68 firefighters knocked down in the flare-up in under 30 minutes, Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman Maria Sabol said. Residents from 10 homes self-evacuated during the fire, though no evacuation orders were made. - 10:54 a.m.
