The conservative coalition has always been traditionalists, anti-communists, and libertarians and always in a state of “crack-up.” Not goosestepping rats like the liberals.

But when some [perhaps, many] traditionalists start adopting sympathies to communist doctrine, maybe the breakup is inevitable. We might be in the throws of a major realignment and not even realize it. You'll know it's a reality when the Left starts adopting the cause that appeal to the traditionalists...and believe me the Left will dump some of their coalition if they believe that there is more votes to gain, than be lost, by changing their message. The Left is very shrewd and they're not stupid...hell, many of them are actively exploiting our Party's internal problems while we play right into their hands.

LOL. Dead on!
We do need to pick a candidate that can please all our party factions and bring them to the polls. Me, I'd like to hear a little more talk about liberty, a commitment to fight the nanny-staters (in both parties), a call for smaller government instead of this unmanageable leviathan that can't do any one thing well because it's so huge. And some down-to-earth talk about how we're going to retire the Baby Boomers without bankrupting (further) the country or enslaving the young people entirely and how we provide for these young people to retire someday.
