Not only are they Caucasians, they are Aryans. Doesn't mean they are "white". Some are darker skinned than others, but all are darker than the vast majority of Europeans. Oh there might be some overlap between the lightest Indians and the darkest Europeans.
But then again, who cares?
My insurance agent happens to be a Desi, I've known many Mediterranean Europeans who had darker skin tones. Big deal.
