Who cares about his skin color? Other than the Clintoon News Network?

Because “Republican governor” makes them choke, thus “nonwhite governor.”

Now, “nonwhite Republican governor” would cause a coronary.

Exactly. I think what is more important is that this is only the 3rd Republican governor since 1877. I guess CNN doesn't want to highlight the fact that Louisiana needs a Republican after the mess the Democrat Blanco made of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. That's the real story.

For starters, Fox News, which ran the same AP story. The New Orleans Times-Picayune. The Washington Times. The Wall Street Journal. Oh, and Jindal himself, who referenced -- reasonably enough -- his immigrant roots in the campaign.

“Who cares about his skin color? Other than the Clintoon News Network?”

The usual suspects: Democrats, liberals, race-baiting pimps and journalists.
Just like the last Jindal run for governor...

“In the runoff, Jindal was savaged by negative ads from the campaign of
Democrat Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. The ads showed a darkened Jindal
and called him a heartless bean-counter.”

Not nearly as many Americans as there were when I was growing up in the 1940s and '50s thank God. The MSM only cares when they can use race baiting to goad minorities into voting against Republicans, and to accuse conservatives of being racists.

Skin pigmentation does not always define a person's racial background, and it doesn't matter anyway except for the much higher vulnerability of white skin to skin cancer. Skin color is most certainly not an indicator of the character or moral integrity of an individual of any race or skin color. I would be quite happy for Mr. Jindall to represent me in Congress or in the Governor's mansion if I lived in LA, something I definitely can't say for millions of lily white Caucasian liberals.

CNN just can’t believe all those backwards racists in Louisiana haven’t strung Jindal up. CNN has been spending the last few months going on and on about how racist that area of the country is because they had the nerve to prosecute some blacks.

It's probably a lot easier to see and write about the color of his skin than the content of his character.
