I have some acquaintances like that, too: educated, sophisticated racists. And probably liberal.

I still remember the first time (and there have been many times since), the real reason that educated liberals like abortion so much. "Do you know how many babies 'they' would have otherwise", I was told. I didn't have to be told who 'they' was.

“They” were the Irish, Italians, Jews, Blacks, etc.
