You settle for very little: "Reagan's record on abortion is pretty good",

Actually, remember since 1973 we have had 3 years of President Ford, 8 years of President Reagan, 4 Years of President Bush I, and 7 years of Bush II. This is 22 years out of the 34 years since Roe vs. Wade.

Abortion is unchanged in America. In 2006 14,000 abortions were done in Minnesota. They don't even bother to record in what trimester the abortions were done.

This has been a top drawer issue, actually a litmus test issue, for "social conservatives" and "value voters" for 34 years. In that time little or nothing has been accomplished that actually reduced the number of abortions. Your suggested progress is all window dressing provided by the politicians to pander for your votes.

If you’re not going to fight against abortionist liberals, why are you on Free Republic?

You're pathetic!

Anytime, anyone stands up for the sanctity of life, they'll get my vote. Reagan was pro-life. He got my vote. Fred is pro-life. He wants an end to Roe v Wade and abortion on demand abolished as the national policy of the US government. That is something I can wholeheartedly support.

That’s so on target that if anyone bothers to read it, it has to hurt their minds.

I stated in an earlier post that if people are really concerned about reducing/ eliminating abortions, they’d spend some effort on effective measures & change the hearts of their fellow Americans.

Interestingly, the biggest pro-life victory has been the ban on Partial-Birth abortion...however, that also didn’t reduce the number of abortions by a single one.
