and some of the dumber states, or at least dumber governors, are following Fantasyland’s example.

What we see in California is our future. Severe and ever-increasing destitution for the ordinary Californian—living in extremely cramped quarters, erratic and expensive electricity and other utilities, toiling multiple jobs just to pay taxes and yet afford very basic living expenses—comes courtesy of severe and ever-increasing government regulation.

The deeply unbalanced federal budget will develop a severe and ever-increasing crisis as none dare consider decreasing the politically sacrosanct but rapidly expanding mandatory spending on welfare. Only dramatic and persistently successive increases in taxes on all ordinary Americans (except the rich donors to the Hillary campaign) can bring the federal government the revenue necessary to meet even its present obligations. With each successive tax increase shock, the economy will decline ever more, necessitating ever more tax hikes.

The upcoming generation of political leaders—most notoriously Hillary Clinton—will obligate their successors via international treaty under the auspices of the Moral Authority of the United Nations to oversee our national economic collapse in all sectors emitting or otherwise contributing to carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases. Some proposals suggest a tax that if now imposed would yield conservatively $6-7 trillion in its first year, about half the entire American economy, in addition to all other federal and non-federal taxes and its accompanying regulatory impact. Other proposals mandate a general 4-12% economic decline every year and make much now-common technology either extremely expensive or altogether unavailable. These proposals to solve climate change make the Great Depression look brief and pleasant.

Hillary Rodham Clinton once elected also promises a universal health-care plan, denying decent medical care to practically all politically unconnected ordinary Americans, even those still otherwise able to afford it. She also promises numerous other initiatives to consume whatever crumbs we yet salvage for our hungry children before they can devour their pittance. Speaking of food, she just announced a proposal for a national diet plan.

Although she devotes much energy toward creating threats to the American people and inflicting much suffering upon them, she seems deeply confused and duplicitous about the real threat of Islamofascism. So we can expect a nuclear Islamic Republic of Iran, perhaps a few ineffectual military raids, and many uninhibited terrorist attacks at home.

Some more onerous and odious regulations perhaps might expire after the end of her term or fade from view under succeeding Administrations. But international treaties bind us forever until the other party agrees to release us. We conceivably might develop technology within the confines and subject to the taxes imposed from Washington, but so too might the workers of the Soviet state prosper. So all hope is not lost, but there’s a realistic reason for all the gloom throughout the land. Prepare now for the Restored Stone Age.
