DREAM ACT is back as a standalone Senate bill:

October 18, 2007 CONGRESSIONAL RECORD—SENATE

By Mr. DURBIN (for himself, Mr. HAGEL, and Mr. LUGAR):

S. 2205. A bill to authorize the cancellation of removal and adjustment of status of certain alien students who are long-term United States residents and who entered the United States as children, and for other purposes; read the first time.

Mr. DURBIN. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the text of the bill be printed in the RECORD.

There being no objection, the text of the bill was ordered to be placed in the RECORD, as follows:

S. 2205
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2007’’ or the ‘‘DREAM Act of 2007’’.

They’re going to get amnesty one way or another. They know they’ll never have a better chance than now. I predict an assault-weapons ban bill before it’s over. It’s just a perfect time in the political cycle to accomplish these things. Conditions may never be as good for their interests.
