OKay, someone has to help me here on parliamentary procedure in the Senate....
Why was Harry Reid saying “Madam President” - was it because some democrat woman senator was temporarily ‘running’ the Senate while Harry was speaking?
I would think this is what it was. He couldn’t be talking about Pelosi because she’s in the House.
Suffice to say, he disgusts me.

Last week at this time, I thought that Rush's idea of auctioning the letter off couldn't get any better.
Then it got better. $2 million for the bid. And then Reid continues to dig his own hole deeper.

We've watched it during the week. It keeps going up and up and up, and there's only a little bit of time left on it.

If it was such a good and worthy cause why did you wait a week until there were only minutes left to bid to call for support?
Is it because the document is a signed lie intended to silence a broadcaster in a Stalinistic bid to use the power of the Senate as a club?
Reid didn't get his way, so now I think Reid will imply that Rush chose this particular military charity in order to atone for "insulting our soldiers".
Reid's not only trying to claim credit for the big charitable donation, he is pathetically trying to declare victory in the whole dispute.

Sorry, I can’t see this a win for Rush when Reid issues a statement that basically implies that he was a partner in this operation. The move by Reid was a counterattack, designed to mislead people. He admitted no wrongdoing, showed no remorse. Instead this is a slap in Rush’s face.

Senator Reid, you should refrain from using the word “we” as regards this issue, until you write a check for $2,100,100. Then you can say “we”.

An attempt, true. But now, Reid’s arrogance has crossed the line over into sheer stupidity.
El Rushbo has been given ALL this weekend to plan his counterattack. His previous counterattack has already succeeded brilliantly. And Rush will not let Dingy Harry get away with this sordid attempt at cooptation.
(And BTW, it’s been tried before. When President Bush 41 achieved victory in Desert Shield/Desert Storm 1991, Senator’s wife Betty Bumpers offered this advice to her fellow antiwar critics: “Just celebrate and take credit”.)
Isn’t there something about the weekly news cycle and how timing is critical? Well, Dingy Harry has monumentally stumbled. Rush will hit the air on Monday, and it will be Katy-bar-the-door for the rest of next week.

Nobody could predict the exact amount, but, in a country where people are spending 40K on wedding flowers it's not a surprising amount considering the historical significance coupled with the emotional tie to the Marine Corps Fund.
My point is that the democrats have No IDEA.
DU`ers are pretty upset, also. One says the winning bidder will never pay up. And another one said Limbaugh is showing contempt for the troops by doing this.
