Define Republican --

An active member of the Republican party who supports Republican candidates. For instance, those who voted for Clinton in 1992 could have been called Republicans. Those who voted for Ross Perot could not have been called Republicans. Only those who voted for GHWB could claim the title, Republican.

It really is that simple.

So what is your definition of a Republican, if not short for Republican Party member? I should make popcorn, because this is going to be good.

Sorry wagglebee, but my 'take' on this is Randall Terry is out to promote Randall Terry... ..and I say this as I once admired him.

I just don't know what that is supposed to mean. The statement conveys absolutely nothing other than no matter what he does you'll claim he has a selfish motive for doing it.

Randall Terry is all about Randall Terry.

Then why is he opposing Rudy? You think he wouldn't be plastered over every magazine in America if he endorsed Gulianni?

It’s scary isn’t it? We actually have FReepers like wagglebee who’d prefer Hillary than some of the GOP candidates.

That is a DAMN LIE! I have NEVER said that I prefer Hillary to anyone and I challenge you to prove otherwise. I am a CONSERVATIVE and I want a CONSERVATIVE to win. A liberal with an "R" after their name is the same as a liberal with a "D" after their name. This is something that YOU and your RINO ilk cannot seem to grasp.

I can understand your viewpoint that Terry’s rhetoric is at times inflammatory, but what “selfish motive” is it that you think he has in going after Rooty?

I'm not talking about 'inflammatory rhetoric'....he's always been about 'that'....

...Back in the late 80's, early 90's I admired the guy...

People change.....people disappoint.

He ran for office (Florida) in the last election....and lost.

IMO, he's all about Randall now..

...Rudy is an 'in the news person' and this gets Randall automatic face time.

I just told you it is a NAME only with no beliefs or principles other than getting elected with an R by your name

As I posted this is a Conservative site and if the democrats ran a real conservative for president senator or house that is who I would vote for . Same goes for 3rd party

Party loyalty like brand loyalty is stupid

Unfortunately, some on here are simply incapable of comprehending that this is a CONSERVATIVE forum and not a GOP forum.

They neither understand nor accept the fact that standing on principles is more important than electing a bleeding-heart liberal as president, even if he happens to be a Republican.

Over the course of the past several months, we have repeatedly watched as liberal supporters of Rooty Toot have sought to portray Reagan as a liberal, they have said that those of us who do not support Rooty are really supporting Hillary, they have lied about members of FR, they have lied about the records of conservative presidential candidates, and etc. In short, they have demonstrated time and time again just how phony and unprincipled they have always been.

We deserve to lose this election if the Republican party can't put forth a conservative nominee that can unify the party.

If you don't like that fact, you'd better work harder to assure Giuliani isn't the nominee.

Notice the venom spewed at everyone who doesn’t kowtow to the 100% political perfection dogma

Giuliani isn't 20% conservative. If you don't like the fact that millions of conservatives aren't going to vote for him and millions more won't contribute or work to get him elected, you'd better make sure he isn't the nominee.

Given how many other issues Giuliani has flip-flopped on, it’s telling that he hasn’t declared himself to be pro-life. That is strong evidence of how radically pro-abortion he is.

The article has a key point. If Guiliani is elected, he will redefine what it means to be a Republican. Look what has happened with GW. Republicans can no longer claim to be fiscally conservative. At least GW is uneqivocally pro-life.

In order to defeat Hillary, you don’t pick the person right next to her. Republicans started acting like Democrats in 2004-2006 in order to create Karl Rove’s supermajority. They took up healthcare, ditched SS reform, didn’t fight for conservative judges, spent like crazy, tried to give amnesty to illegals.... all Democrat issues, and where did it get them?

You may have missed the fact that most of the Rooty Rooters around here aren’t at all bothered by the fact that Rooty isn’t a conservative, because they aren’t either.
