Everybody knows the Sheriff never captured Robin. He always escaped by jumping off the castle wall to his waiting Merry Men.

Got me to thinking again. So many heros on TV for the baby boomers were running around in tights - Robin Hood, Superman, Batman ... TV brought to a new level the gaying of America. At least the previous generation made an attempt to ignore homosexuals in popular culture.

Au contraire, not according to the B&W TV series from approx. 1955-1960 (with Richard Greene playing Robin).
