NEW YORK (AP) -- The wedding was lovely, except for the flowers: They were the wrong color.
So says the bride, Elana Glatt, who was so upset that she sued the florist and alleged breach of contract.
She says Posy Floral Design in Manhattan substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green ones she had specified for 22 centerpieces.
Not only that, she alleges that the hydrangeas were wilted and brown, and arranged in dusty vases without enough water.

I still think she had NO intention of spending $27,000....the lawsuit papers were probably drawn up ages ago.
Never mind, he did. Well, I retract my guess that husband would be embarrassed.
My wife and I got married this past May. Paid $3500 for photos and video. Found out 2 weeks ago photographer went out of business and screwed so many other couples. Photo lab that has our stuff wants an additional $1700 to fulfill the order. This broad gets the wrong colored flowers and sues? Get a life. I have no memories what so ever and I am out $3500.
Yes.
That said, if you have an agreement with someone and they don't deliver, you should have some recourse.
A friend of my daughter just got married this summer. The wedding tab was closing in on $70,000. Both families split the bill. I can’t add more, because I am still shaking my head when I think of it...
Live and learn. The Matron of Honor’s husband took our pictures with his 35mm camera. We paid for the roll of film and the developing. Total cost: About $50.
$70k?
We just got married and were well under that - for everything. We even ended up paying for rooms and travel expenses for some of our guests and STILL came in well under that. Actually, came well under what this woman paid for her flowers.
That kind of money would have made a nice down payment on a house. Instead it was just dumped on a one-day costume party.
This makes me sick. I can’t stand shallow ignorant people ....and this bride takes the (wedding) cake.
We had a number of people take pictures with their own high quality cameras. We also distributed disposable cameras to people who attended the wedding. He had more pictures than can be imagined... some quite as nice as those taken by the supposed pros.
Yeah, what’s $27K? Pocket change.
Any lawyers out there know whether New York is a U.C.C. State?
Not only that, but when the couple can’t afford to buy a house, they’ll complain long and loud about what a terrible place America is, how a young couple can’t get ahead. Priorities, people.
Speaking of which, I have a friend who’s getting married for the second time. She has four children, and her fiance has two. They will soon be looking at college for six children, but instead of having a simple wedding and saving for college, she’s doing one of those destination weddings. She can’t understand why I’m not just thrilled to pay thousands of dollars to go to her wedding. I keep telling her, “I want to go to your wedding, but I don’t feel I should have to go on your honeymoon to do it.”
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Per the article: the mother-in-law paid for the flowers.
Well done.
I can't complain: one of our best friends was a professional photographer, so we got the whole package for free as a wedding gift. And though his pictures were very, very good, I'll tell you---some of the pictures taken by "civilians" and sent to us were just as good.
Her dress was simple and the reception was understated. They spent a little money, to be sure, but it was not one of these wedding extravaganzas. Everybody had a great time and nobody felt beaten over the head with how much money they had spent on this or that.
It is a great shame that weddings, which should be an opportunity for families to gather for a joyous occasion, so often turn into something unattractive and grubby. If all a bride takes away from her wedding day is concern that the flower vases were dusty, she has done something very wrong.
Not really. If one pays to have a certain choice, and flowers are expensive btw, and the colors are not correct, the shop is at fault. Her colors were chosen to coordinate with her bridal party. She’s entitled to recieve what SHE PAID for.
I don’t go to the store and buy a dress in beige and have them put a red one in my checkout bag.
