Later in the article she writes, that JF'ingKerry "imploded spectacularly." How can one be "tantalizingly close to winning" but "implode spectacularly"? I am not smart enough to figure that one out. Here is the qoute I am referring to: "Gore could do nothing right. He ignord his loyalists, got bloated and sweaty, embraced the unruly anti-war left and threw his support behind their 2004 presidential candidate, who then imploded spectacularly."

Had it not been for gay marriage on the Ohio ballot, and all the Amish coming out to vote against it (they'd really rather not usually participate in partisan politics) we might be dealing with the re-election campaign of President Kerry right now.
