Uh, I don’t think Maliki was elected on purple finger day, when, yes, I applauded and still do applaud. I think he replaced Allawi? I did not say Maliki should be removed from office or that the elections did not work. I’m just saying that Maliki is dragging his feet politically because he thinks the Shia can get a better deal if they hold out; he’s risking the entire nation that way. The Shia thugs have too much influence on his government. But I called for legal and legitimate ways of dealing with corruption, not thuggish, Saddamish ways. I’m very glad for the elections; all I’m asking for is that the political process work even better.
I see his attack on Blackwater as an attempt to divert attention from his own thugs and corruption in his ranks. The MSM were taken in by his head fake. He needs to be held accountable. Petraeus has fingered a number of his guys.
I’m willing to wait and let the Iraqi’s use the electoral and political process to fix this. I haven’t given up. I just don’t think Blackwater is the problem and they need to call Maliki’s bluff. That’s all perfectly legal and legitimate and accords with the free political process we went to war to make possible. It’s not established yet, but I have no regrets about applauding the purple fingers.
So what’s your problem?
