NEW YORK - An attorney for Air America radio personality Randi Rhodes is disputing on on-air report by a colleague that the liberal talk show host was attacked on a Manhattan street.
Air America's Jon Elliott announced on his late-night show Monday that Rhodes had been assaulted Sunday while walking her dog about a block from her Park Avenue home. He also speculated that the attack was the work of "the right wing hate machine."
Elliott's account of the incident, however, was contested Tuesday by Rhodes attorney, Robert Gaulin.

Perpetrated by someone who severely needs the attention.
Her ratings are in the crapper and she needs to somehow get noticed right away.
Often this type of mishap is associated with alcohol abuse.

Well, I checked out DU for their response to the news that it wasn’t a hate crime and it is: “Well, it could have been. You never know with George Bush. It was only natural for us to assume.” Sigh.
She lives in NY. This could easily happen. I’ll give her the credit for what she said happened until I see otherwise. I think that this attorney may be moving to try and undo credibility damage done by people like DUers who immediately saw the VRWC at work.
