When people are walking animals it is supposed to keep muggers away, so this is a bit odd. I don’t think that that street is very croweded at night.

It used to be an attack like this would wak a liberal up, but these days, the SOP is to blame the “evil” republicans than their own failed policies and politicians who have allowed animals to prowl the streets of NYC, attacking people. It’s like this in most major cities, SF has the same problems with people being attacked, but it’s never the fault of the cash giveaways, free needles, and laws letting them sleep on the sidewalk, it’s always the fault of “Bush’s tax cuts!” and “Haliburton!” and “THE RICH”.
I’ve been in conversations with pompous, elitist Liberals from SF, their eyes kid of glaze over and they start frothing at the mouth if you talk about crime (It’s REagans’ fault for throwing them out of the institutions!), but if you even try to direct the blame towards Newsome or Willie Brown, then, oh, how DARE you, they did more to HELP “those people”!
Ms. Rhodes was attacked because she presented herself as a victim in a predatory environment. It’s NYC. Attacks happen on a frequent basis. If she’s smart, she’ll stop walking her dog alone, and get some self defense, in training and pepper spray.
Knowing she’s a liberal, she’ll get a bodyguard with a concealed carry, and then go on the air and rant about gun ownership.

Yep, no possible way that it just could have been random street violence in New York City. Why, that's just UNHEARD of! It must have been one of Dick Cheney's hit men. That's who I would look at first, rather than one of countless violent street toughs that plague blue state urban areas.
