That they attempt compromise with the libs time and again is a Exhibit A for why we should have term limits. How come outside DC we can all see, so clearly, how they're being played, and yet they still do it? Maybe because once you're having drinks with the libs and hanging out with them you're thinking they're you'r friends? Whereas if you're new in town your anger at them is fresh and keeps you aware?
