Sounds good, all of it...

But should I hold out for pie in the sky, too?

What candidate comes close to touching, all the above? (pie not included).

Duncan Hunter? I'd vote for him, sure...but even if he could win the GOP nomination, could he beat the witch of the East, with her army of skillful liars?

maybe...

I could vote for Duncan Hunter but not with the enthusiasm I would have for Fred Thompson.

Fred seems to fill ALL the criteria.

Hunter is weak on property rights, IMHO, and won’t do much to shrink the federal government either, IMHO.

Also, Hunter has less traction than either Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee, both of whom also fail key test criteria. None of these three will prove viable in the end, in any case.

It will come down to Thompson, Romney, or Giuliani.

Given that field, there really isn’t any reason to hesitate.

The real issue is not "pie in the sky," but B.S. underfoot. It's not asking for "pie in the sky" to demand that "Republicans" who advocate higher taxes, more gun control, and more abortion are not welcome in the party and not fit to lead. It's plain common sense.
