Judaism holds that from righteous conduct, belief in God will follow. The famous Ten Trials Of Abraham are examples of how doing things of which God approves draws one closer to Him. There is no formal statement of dogma in Judaism, apart from the Shema. The Sage Hillel pointed out to a pagan that one should do right by one's fellow man and all the rest of the Torah is commentary. To study it means to act out the spiritual life in the world.
