Check the used car dealers that specialize in selling to illegal aliens.

Someone trying to flush any trace of illegal drugs out of their system perhaps?

There sure are a lot of bridge mega-fires and collapses lately--most of not all involving semis. Prior to these last couple years, I do not recall having heard of such a spate of them.
It would be very good to find out who was driving those trucks.

Reminds me of the head-on tanker crash in a tunnel in Switzerland circa 2002. Nobody ever whispered the ‘T’ word then either.

These were all large commercial semis. I’m sure the companies that own the trucks can say who the drivers were. They are supposed to have extensive documentation and licenses on file, just for such occasions.

The Daily News in Los Angeles has pulled the article, but about a month ago they had an article saying that 45 percent of drivers are illegal.

Problem is, the trucks were burned beyond recognition - no license plates, no papers, no ID on the trucks that burned. Nothing. Just piles of metal shells.

The frame rails of the tractors and trailers have serial numbers stamped into the metal. These numbers are tracable to Vehicle Identification Numbers.

Even the vehicle identification numbers (which are often stamped into the metal frames)?

License plates are stamped, too, and big rigs usually have multiple plates. Even if the paint burns off, they should be readable by a skilled forensic detective.
