Also I don’t believe they were wearing their seat belts. You can drive drunk, roll, drive of and embankment, or otherwise completely destroy your car, and the greatest indicator of whether or not you will survive has repeatedly been shown to be whether on not you were wearing your seat belt.
Space aliens or paparazzi did not stop them from buckling up. Even the drunk driver buckled up and lived.

The body guard was apparently buckled up although that is disputed.

Seat belts. Good point. In the photo at post 17 with Diana turned around, it would seem that she didn’t have her belt on.

Wrong! The drunk driver was killed. It was the (sober) bodyguard, riding in the front seat with the driver, who used his seat belt and lived.
