Any idea about the proportion of the Republican vote that he could be expected to get?

Don't know - I imagine what passes for Republican in California is very close to what we're starting to see with a number of the candidates. There has been quite an exodus from that state for a number of years. Many of the Conservatives are probably long gone with the remaining ones feeling quite alone (ala Illinois conservatives). Arnold is going down the middle and more and more to the left.

The conservatives leave CA, but there are so few of them that the transplants are turning NV, MT, CO, and AZ into future liberal strongholds. I think we are losing badly.
