It also helps Reid that he is a Mormon. It gives him a false sense of credibility that he is an “independent”. We were 428 votes from ousting Reid in 1998.

What’s sad is that Reid’s buddy Jim Gibbons could’ve ousted him in ‘04 and we would’ve had an excellent Governor in NV named Bob Beers. Gibbons selfishness has blown up in his face, and he is truly deserving of that equally abysmal disapproval rating.

True. I’m not sure what the stats in the 2004 election were broken down by religion, but I am sure that, with 61% of the vote, Reid got a sizable percentage of the Mormon vote in Nevada.

The "Mormon edge" is all but gone. He is known for what he really is, namely a MINO.

His latest great adventure at BYU did not earn him any points among practicing LDS folks......
