With all due respects, this sounds very similar to those Americans who demanded that ALL Japanese-Americans in the early WWII days should be all rounded up and thrown into a camp, just because they were of Japanese descent. But, did that action save any lives?
We could never know.

We do know that internment of Japanese saved lives during WW2.
There were NO terrorist attacks on our country by Japanese nationals, or Japanese Americans.
Internment prevented any with sympathies toward Japan from being free to act on them.
