Many of us here were astonished at Turkey's decision not to let us enter through their area when the war began. It cost us a lot of time and lives. Of Iraqis as well as our own personnel. Plus slowed down the process immensely.

A lot of Kurdistan is in Southern Turkey, and they were afraid of losing some of it. Foolish paranoid move on their part IMO. They would love to invade Northern Iraq and take over the Oil deposits there.
