No. His father was from the minor Hungarian nobility, and his mother was from the Mallah family, one of the oldest Jewish families of Salonika, Greece.

Sarkozy’s grandfather, Beniko, immigrated to France with his mother. When in France Beniko converted to Catholicism and changed his name to Benedict in order to marry a French Christian girl named Adèle Bouvier. .

Okay, Sarkozy's mother was half-Christian French, and half ethnic Jewish.

With that, and the maternal family lineage, genealogists could have a great time researching Sarkozy's children's family tree.:)
