Fred Thompson's hot babe
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | Sunday, October 14, 2007 | Tom Purcell

Posted on 10/14/2007 4:15:36 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The presidential campaign is heating up. Thankfully, our press is focusing on important issues, such as Fred Thompson's wife.

As it goes, Thompson, who had been divorced 20 years, met her at a supermarket in 2000. She is 24 years his junior, but something clicked.

He carried her groceries to her car. She invited him to a party. They married in 2002 and now have two children.

And now, according to The New York Times Fashion & Style section, Thompson's young wife is spurring debate in Internet chat rooms, cable television and talk radio. Is America ready for a president with a trophy wife, The Times asks.

She's got a permanent tan, after all. Her hair is bleached blond. Her 41-year-old youthfulness contrasts mightily with the grandfatherly nature of her 65-year-old husband.

The question on everyone's mind: Will social conservatives -- those fuddy-duddy moral-values types -- turn away from Thompson because his second wife is a babe?

As is often the case with our media, they got it backward. MORE people will support Thompson because of his wife.

Look, Thompson has a balding noggin. His mug is pale, haggard and woebegone. Nobody is going to mistake him for George Clooney.

Yet the old fellow persuaded a young blonde in a supermarket to 1) ask him out, 2) marry him and 3) have two kids with him. This fellow could talk Ahmadinejad out of his nuclear ambitions.(continued)

We get lots of looks. Envy from the men, and cattiness from the women.

I saw the pic in your homepage, and you get a big thumbs-up from me!

"She may be younger and pretty but she was a professional and made quite a bit of money as a lobbiest. The lobbiest part is what scares me."

So she was a lobbyist, so what?

There is nothing inherently evil about lobbyists. It is what they lobby for or against that is important.

I’m Sorry. Were you talking to me or was I talking?

I think today is the day I take the Blue pills.

If what I said upset you you must not have understood what I said. Or, maybe, I did not understant it.

(I love getting older! Same problems, new excuses!)

This is what used to be known as an “over-the-transom” story, an ambitious K-school graduate still working on his first box of crayons climbs up on a ladder and slips this in along with his wish-list to Santa Claus.

Unless Morford took up moonlighting and ghost-writing in the same week, I wouldn’t pay a whole lot of attention to it.

She has the body of a Teletubbie.

That often happens with women who are over 40 and have had kids. So?

So, she is not as "Hot" as they make her out to be. She's average or even less.

"She has the body of a Teletubbie."

Why don't you have two babies in 5 years time, and see how yours looks...

and furthermore, why do YOU care? I isn't like you'd ever have a shot at it, now is it?

When I saw her on TV, I though she was attractive, intelligent and quite poised. They came across as a couple who were happy, and in love, with a great little family, and that they don't really give a rat's a** what you think about them.

Temper, temper!

Maybe you don't really understand the FR concept.

Someone posts something, then we all comment on it. Pretty simple, actually. I'm sure there is a remedial thread around here somewhere.

hy·per·bo·le /haɪˈpɜrbəli/ –noun Rhetoric. 1. obvious and intentional exaggeration. 2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”

Taking into account the young age of the children, I’d have to assume that Fred still has what it takes to “get the job done”, if you know what I mean. ;^)

Is America ready for a president with a trophy wife

A better question.

Is America prepared to let Slick Willie run around with the wives of so many foreign leaders?

Wars have started for less.

I married my trophy wife last week Wednesday.

Congratulations!

Wednesday was the !#th anniversary of my 39th birthday as well.

Girlie has a beautiful and seemingly perpetual smile, may that always be so.
