I read the bill. I saw that they have added "disability" and "sexual orientation" into the public school discrimination law. It spelled out sexual orientation to include heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual. It redefined "gender" from the biological gender at birth to add something that included what appears to be cross-dressers and transsexuals.

Nauseating enough.

However, I didn't see anything about banning "Mom" and "Dad" or "husband and wife." Nor did I see anything that addresses boys being allowed to go into girls' locker rooms or bathrooms or vice versa.

Perhaps a hyperbolic interpretation by the author?

This is State Senator Sheila Keuhl’s (formerly “Zelda” from The Lives and Loves of Dobie Gillis)bill, and the story is reporting the likely legal ramifications, although it may take a while for most of them to be forced onto the system.

What would you have said 20 years ago if someone said in the near future the media would direct 50% of their attention to queers getting married? You would have laughed like we all would and now the courts are turning kids over to the perverts for adoption.

Agree.. World Net Daily tends to take a set of facts and jump to wild conclusions.  However, looking at this bill:

 

• Section 51500. Prohibiting bias in teacher instruction or school sponsored activities.
• Section 51501. Prohibiting the adoption of biased textbooks or instructional materials by the State Board of Education.
• Section 60044. Prohibiting the adoption of biased instructional materials by any school board.
• Section 66251. Guaranteeing equal opportunity in postsecondary educational institutions.
• Section 66270. Prohibiting discrimination in the programs and activities of postsecondary institutions.

 

Although SR777 does not explicitly mention "mom" or "dad", I can see how this opens the door (I mean a huge wide door) should a complaint be filed.  Looks like the bill's author, Sheila Kuhel, has the bases covered.
