No they weren’t. They are just straight up socialism not based on race. Ending the welfare programs at this point isn’t happening. Too many big spenders in both parties. At best we can keep spending flat +-1%. If we get more people like Paul & Hunter in not only the House but the Senate, we can talk about eliminating all of the federal welfare programs. At this point for 2008 we’re closer to ADDING another program (Hillarycare) than removing any programs. Sad but true.

No they weren’t. They are just straight up socialism not based on race.

In practice, the Great Society programs are reparations.

To quote David Horowitz: "Since the passage of the Civil Rights Acts and the advent of the Great Society in 1965, trillions of dollars in transfer payments have been made to African-Americans in the form of welfare benefits and racial preferences (in contracts, job placements and educational admissions) - all under the rationale of redressing historic racial grievances."

Under Duncan Hunter, these payments will continue.

Keyes wants to replace it all with a tax break, which will stimulate the economy, reduce unemployment, and eventually lead to the abolition of the income tax for everyone.

But as I said, you're free to support the status quo.
