There was a small detail missing from the report, so I added it to the end of the sentence.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy underwent surgery Friday after doctors discovered a partially blocked artery in his neck during an examination of his back, which was injured in a 1964 airplane crash... and reinjured in 1969, when Mary Jo Kopechne was killed in a car driven by U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy which drove off the island’s Dike Bridge.

I guess this is, “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” time.

Prayers offered.

A friend of mine had this a few weeks ago and she is doing fine. She is even back at work.

Prayers for Sen. Kennedy and his family.

Amen Hiredhand. I personally am tired of people trying to silence those of us that are NOT afraid of judgment by pulling a scripture out of context and implying that we are not worthy to judge. Paul says it best, "Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?" (1 Corinthians 6:3)

Hope he has a full recovery....despite what he’s done.

God Forgive me but I can’t bring myself to say one nice thing. I’m sure the doc’s will give him better care than he gave Mary Jo Kopeckne.

Well hello there! Thanks for the "word". Bad theology is a pet peeve of mine. :-) It's hard enough staying focused in this world on the Lord without BAD THEOLOGY! Happy FRIDAY and Shalom!

Do you think the fat pig SOB ever stops playing politics? How many people has his policies hurt? How many terrorists has his rhetoric emboldened and soldiers deaths and injuries resulted from? Sorry folks won’t waste my prayers or best wishes on Teddy or any of his putrid family.

My dad had a blocked carotid artery nearly 20 years ago and “cured” it by joining a gym and working out daily. He’s 81 and still working out. Two of his brothers died from blocked carotid arteries in the past decade, and they’re now pretty sure that’s what my grandpa died of in 1952 when he was only 54. Amazing something like that could be so specific in it’s genetic commuting.

>they are the main source of all our material!

I’d rather have less material. :)

I’d rather they go to heaven. People only act like that in the absence of the fear of God.

Maybe he had a heart attack when someone actually compared Obama to his brother.

Ouch, I do hope he comes out of it all right. Blocked carotid could mean a stroke, and I wouldn’t wish that on ANYBODY.

As an aside, what is it about Kennedys and (a) plane crashes, and (b) bad backs? Joe Jr. dies in a B-17 crash in 1944, and of course there’s John-John a few years later. JFK had terrible degenerative back problems after the sinking of PT 109 in 1943.

The way I see it, yes, we’re allowed to judge others, however, you better be DARN sure that what you are saying others are doing “wrong”, you YOURSELF are not doing too! And remember, it’s not a “specific” thing, rather an entire GROUP of sin we’re talking about here.

For example, if you criticize another for being a homosexual, you better be sure you NEVER have any unrepentant sexual sin in YOUR life, including HETEROsexual sin.

Myself, I’d just rather not bother worrying about whether or not I’m a hypocrite and just worry about criticizing my own sin; that way I don’t have to worry about being caught in hypocrisy in my particular judgement.

Prayers for the Senator for a quick recovery.

my attitude is a lot like yours. Guy next door is 80+, and been just a pritch forever, and we rarely talk. He’s been diagnosed with colon cancer, and I told him that I DO hope he recovers, but that I didn’t mind a bit if it hurts while he recovers. The old btard chuckled before he walked away.

If this were moveon-org, and Bush were in surgery, I can imagine what kind of messages would be posted. Certainly not prayers. Just check out what they posted about Tony Snow—wishes for a quick death, painful death, etc.
