I know there are people who milk the system and out and out criminals like MS-13 (or whatever they call themselves).

There are scum like that in every society.

But I have watched most of these Hispanic Americans - and I am an Anglo but live in a heavily Hispanic area. They work very long hours, they frequently hold more than one job, they open their own businesses. In the long run, as individuals, I view them as a plus for our society.

The problem HERE lies with Americans who are willing to allow Spanish as an unofficial second language - although I could live with THAT if English was adopted as the OFFICIAL language here, and Americans who pander to or profit from, illegal invaders.

There are problems with Hispanic governmental structure which would take a lot of work to straighten out. But the effort would be far less work than any similar endeavor with Red China or Russia (almost lost causes).

America was a free society long before we had our revolution from Britain. Our English history and heritage, along with geography gave us that advantage. The South American Revolutions on the other hand, merely exchanged a set of ruling oligarchs in Madrid with sets of oligarchs in Mexico City, Lima, etc.

The Oligarchs had no reason to exchange their dominance for democracy, a concept alien to them. The masses of exploited peasantry had no ability to do so or exposure to our experiences here in the North.

Today, the same situation still exists in most South American countries, and only when these people are presented with opportunities in a society like ours can they bloom.

So you have a point.

But I think the end result is worth the effort. Red China and the Islamic Neo-Kaliphate is our real enemy. And we need allies. Don’t look to the Euroweenies.

We were extremely lucky to have been blessed with British governance. Just about everywhere in the world that you look (except africa) where the British Empire rested, the rule of law (for the most part) prevails  to this day.

They work very long hours, they frequently hold more than one job, they open their own businesses.

I see that as little different from many others in our society. The "lazy american" is a meme I don't buy.

I absolutely agree with you on that. Wish we could put a stop to it.

I see your point, but I'd rather they learn to respect rule of law and property rights on their own dime, not mine.
