I agree with everything you said. My issue with the other poster was he said that a good carpenter could build the cabinets for 1/10 or less of the cost as to buy from a store. My point I was trying to make was that his dramatic savings were unrealistic. To build a cabinet that cost $200 on sale at a store would probably cost
over $100 in lumber, hardware. Add stain and finish and sandpaper and whatever else and the price increases.
Obviously the 1/10 cost or less is WAAAY out of whack.
